What is WiFi UAE?WiFi UAE is country-wide initiative linked to UAE Vision 2021. The plan is to have a free, high-speed wireless internet connection that people can access through their smartphone, tablet or Laptop. As part of du’s commitment to support the Emirate’s growth, we have launched a high-speed WiFi service across the UAE that allows residents and visitors to access the internet on the go. WiFi UAE will enable all UAE residents to access WiFi in public areas. WiFi UAE will be available across Dubai’s top public areas and transportation. WiFi UAE will now be available to use in many sites including Dubai RTA Taxis, Dubai Metro and Abu Dhabi buses. For the list of WiFi UAE hotspots visit https://www.du.ae/WiFi-uae/locations.

How do I use WiFi UAE?For you to enjoy the WiFi UAE service, you need to make sure that:
1. The device being used is WiFi-enabled (mobiles, laptops or tablets in order to access the WiFi service).
2. Then search for the wireless networks in range and you should select @WiFi UAE from du’s network (SSID).
3. Authentication via SMS is on a valid UAE mobile number (du or Etisalat numbers), according to regulatory guidelines.
Select a WiFi package that suits your needs:
• WiFi UAE Free
• Premium WiFi
Once WiFi UAE from du is selected, either a popup page will automatically load or you should open the internet browser and type in www.du.ae where you will be directed to the WiFi landing page and then follow the below steps (make sure the address typed into the browser is http:// and not https://):
WiFi UAE Free
• Enter your mobile number.
• Complete a mandatory online registration form. You only have to do this once.
• A WiFi OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to you via SMS. Enter the WiFi OTP and click ‘Continue'.
• There is one extra step for international mobile numbers only. After entering the WiFi OTP you will be redirected to the “UAE Pass” page where you need to enter your passport number, Nationality and date of birth. If these details match with your immigration records you will be granted access to the Internet.
• International mobile numbers users will receive OTP from a local mobile number
• In the Dubai RTA Taxis and Abu Dhabi Buses every user of WiFi UAE can have 50MB of free Internet access per day.
WiFi UAE Premium
• Enter your mobile number.
• Complete a mandatory online registration form. You only have to do this once.
• A WiFi OTP will be sent to you via SMS. Enter the WiFi OTP and click 'Continue'.
• There is one extra step for international mobile numbers only. After entering the WiFi OTP you will be redirected to the “UAE Pass” page where you need to enter your passport number, Nationality and date of birth. If these details match with your immigration records you will be granted access to the Internet.
•International mobile numbers users will receive OTP from a local mobile number
• Select your payment method. You can pay with any du recharge cards or GCC issued credit cards.
• Complete the payment steps and enjoy WiFi Premium speeds.

What are the charges and payment methods for Premium WiFi UAE?There are three Premium WiFi packages that you can select:
Price (VAT Inclusive) Type WiFi Access Time Validity (days) AED 2 One Time Unlimited Daily (24 hours) AED 10 One Time Unlimited 7 days AED 25 One Time Unlimited 30 days
There are three payment methods that you can select from when purchasing the Premium WiFi packages:
1. du Recharge cards
2. Credit card (GCC only)
3. du Account (du Consumer subscribers only)
If the Premium WiFi balance depletes or expires, then you can buy another package and continue using the service.

Once the validity of the Premium WiFi balance expires, then any remaining balance will be lost.
Customers can only have one Premium WiFi package at a time.
For a package that doesn’t have a du Recharge denomination then the payment method will ONLY be with a GCC Credit Card or du Account (du Consumer subscribers only). -
How can I check the remaining Premium WiFi Data balance?You can check your remaining balance and validity of the Premium WiFi UAE by:

What is the speed of the complimentary WiFi UAE?The complimentary WiFi service speed is 512Kbps.
Premium WiFi service is a high-speed internet connection that allows you to take advantage of broadband access.
The speed of the WiFi connection varies and is affected by several factors such as:
• The number of active users at a hotspot location.
• The distance of your device from the access point. -
Can I access government sites with WiFi UAE?You can access all government websites at high speed, while enjoying the WiFi Free and Premium sessions.

Is there a data limit or time limit for WiFi UAE Free access?There is a data limit of 50MB per day if you use in Dubai RTA taxis and Abu Dhabi Taxis. There is no data limit in other WiFi UAE sites, and you can use WiFi UAE for 24 hrs. A sponsored advertisement will play after everytime you re-authenticate to start a new WiFi session.

Can I have multiple WiFi UAE sessions with the same login details?Unfortunately, you can only have one WiFi session at a time per mobile number.

What will happen to my Premium WiFi balance when the validity expires?When the validity of the Premium WiFi Package expires, any remaining balance will be lost.

How can I connect to WiFi UAE Data network?WiFi UAE is available on all WiFi-capable devices within WiFi UAE hotspots. To connect, you need to choose the “@WiFi UAE from du” network from your device’s list of available networks. Once the network is selected you should automatically get the WiFi landing Page or if not you should open an internet browser and type in www.du.ae (ensure the address is http:// and not https://) where you will be directed to the WiFi landing page, then you need to enter your du mobile number and authenticate to start browsing.

What is WiFi data bundle?du is offering a free WiFi data bundle allowance for selected du consumer mobile postpaid and prepaid plans. To enjoy their WiFi data bundle, eligible consumer mobile customers simply need to connect to the “@WiFi UAE from du” network available in major public locations around the UAE and enter their mobile number. The WiFi UAE service will automatically detect what WiFi data bundle is available.

Once your data has been activated, you will receive an SMS notification informing them about the free WiFi Data from du.
Your mobile data allowance will remain unchanged.

Additional WiFi Data bundles is given in addition to the Mobile Data, WiFi data will be consumed automatically when customers connect to WiFi UAE using the Premium WiFi option.
All of the WiFi UAE Bundles should have premium speed.
No carryover of the unused WiFi UAE quota should be allowed.
Bundles/ allowances should start from time of payment.
